It is not too often that I point to my blog, but our trip to Comfort is worthy of a link: http://naturesgodblog.org/2010/01/11/fr ... the-union/

My great great great grandfather was a company commander in the CSA under Johnston. He's buried in High Point NC. We still have the letters he sent back home to his wife. Because of that and the fact my family was fairly prominent in Gibsland the small La. town I'm from (in fact the old Gibbs plantation has been in my family since the civil war- almost 150 years) people expect I have a sympathetic view of the "old south". I don't. I oppose everything they stood for and I'm glad they lost. If I had lived back then I hope I would have had the courage to go north and wear yankee blue. Like the Germans who opposed Hitler those people are true hero's. I envy them.

History of truth seeking free mind needs to be written. It is very unfortunate the only the hisory of self serving kings and their ally popes and blind faith religious detractors is all we and our children are being indoctrinated through educatinn and media. The fundamental contributions of brave open minded freedom fighters in the freedoms we enjoy today have been wiped out of the forged world history.
